Strategic Objectives
Sahakarmi Samaj’s strategic objectives for the period 2016-2022 are as follows:
Strategic Objective 1
By the end of 2022, members of at least 1,500 groups of marginalised people in 100 VDC’s in 10 Districts will have developed the capacity to take intentional personal and collective action to secure citizen rights, sustainable livelihoods and justice-oriented local development.
Strategic Objective 2
By the end of 2022, 4,500 especially disadvantaged individuals will have developed the capacity and necessary social support to take intentional action to secure citizen rights, sustainable livelihoods and justice-oriented local development.
Strategic Objective 3
By the end of 2022, at least 100 new area coordinating committees (‘Main Committees’) and at least 20 new regional network organisations (‘Community Based Networking Organisations’) will have become proficient at supporting and mobilising their constituent local community development groups (‘Community Groups’) and exercising leverage on their behalf to secure rights and resources for sustainable livelihoods and justice-oriented local development.
Strategic Objective 4
By the end of 2022, at least 100 VDCs or Municipalities and 300 non-government organisations in the Sahakarmi Samaj work areas will have become more accountable and effective in providing disadvantaged individuals, groups and communities with the support and resources they need to secure citizen rights, sustainable livelihoods and justice-oriented local development.
Strategic Objective 5
By the end of 2022, at least 90 organisations from outside the Sahakarmi Samaj work areas (GOs, NGOs and CBNOs) will have adopted elements of the FEST approach to facilitate disadvantaged individuals, groups and communities to secure citizen rights, sustainable livelihoods and justice-oriented local development.
Strategic Objective 6
By the end of 2022, 3,000 public servants, development practitioners and other interested people will have become informed about FEST practice and FEST-related themes through having access to a range of publications and other communications media.
Strategic Objective 7
By the end of 2022, wherever feasible, positive opportunities will have been created and value will have been added to work with disadvantaged people through the development of joint programmes with funding and operational partners whose purviews encompass different but complementary types of development practice.
