In line with Sahakarmi Samaj’s strategic objective 3: “Making the local government more accountable and effective to ensure sustainable development”, a five year (2019-2023) strategic planning workshop  of  Mahakali Municipality, ward No 7 was undertaken for five continuous days starting from 1st of June in Babathan, Dodhara, in the presence of Mr. Gyanendra Bahadur Bahek Kshetri, chairperson.  A total of 34 participants: ward committee elected representatives, leaders and other stakeholders participated in the workshop.

The workshop was mainly focused on guiding the participants to identify the opportunities, gaps and constraints of the particular municipality and developing needed and required development plans strategically. However, the strategic workshop was targeted towards:

• Making that particular ward to be proactive
• Setting up a sense of direction
• Increasing operational efficiency
• Identify their internal resources and opportunities
• Setting up a scenario for sustainable local development
