South West Nepal Community Governance Enhancement Program
Sahakarmi Samaj implemented South West Nepal Community Governance Enhancement Program in Jajarkot, Kailali, Kanchanpur and Bardiya districts with support from Irish Aid and SHEP Ireland. The project was implemented in these districts from 2007 to 2016 with the objectives of enhancing the quality of the lives of marginalised people, organisational strengthening of the Community Based Networking Organisations (CBNOs), improving the quality services of local government, as well as enhancing community participation, and Capacity building of NGOs in terms of using the FEST approach. The project had reached 44,787 people from marginalised communities and community based networking organisations and local governments. The major outcome of the project was that people became organised to claim and realize their rights and supported CBNOs the have been raising the issues of poor and marginalised communities.
